Sander Kleinenberg Reminds You That "This Is Miami" at LIV on November 17

Ugh. Don't y'all hate when you're so deep into the ecstasy of dance music that you forget the name of the city you're in? Sure, you've put your hands up for Detroit plenty of times. But you're definitely not in Michigan. Maybe it's Bankok, Hong Kong, or Lisbon? No, pookie...

No, pookie head, "This Is Miami." And you won't fucking forget it when Sander Kleinenberg drops the beat on his 2006 multinational hit at LIV next week. The Dutch DJ's currently on a cross-country, North American tour and he'll be kicking it Miami Beach-style on Thursday, November 17.

Earlier this year, Kleinenberg celebrated the North American release of Sander Kleinenberg Presents 5K, an 11-track record that serves as both a club banger and serious "artist album." Kleinenberg's intention on 5K was to "make a soundtrack for Saturday night" and "write a substantial song."

Influenced heavily by jazz, early '90s hip-hop, and synth pop, Kleinenberg blends elements of each on 5K, resulting in a brilliantly crafted hybrid dance record.

Expect the dutch master to bring his visually stimulating video element when he rolls through LIV on Thursday. After all, the dude's a DVJing pioneer.

Sander Kleinenberg with special guest Pleasurekraft . Thursday, November 17. LIV, 4441 Collins Ave., Miami Beach. The party starts at 11 p.m. and tickets cost $40 plus fees via wantickets.com. Call 305-674-4680 or visit livnightclub.com.
