Yesterday, after escaping an unknown assailant, dodging 20 bullets, and smashing up his Rolls Royce on the streets of Broward County, Rick Ross disappeared for approximately 12 hours.

He couldn't be reached for comment on the shooting by TMZ, MTV, the Miami Herald, Crossfade, or any of the other media types clamoring for a few Bawse words about the attack.

So where was Ross? In hiding? Beefing up security? Nah, homie ... Back at work, maybe even ripping out this fresh freestyle that seems aimed at the would-be assassins.

UPDATE Investigating the Rick Ross shooting, Fort Lauderdale police are sifting though surveillance video, but they're not discussing suspects.

Riffing on Kendrick Lamar's swagged-out and contemplative "Bitch, Don't Kill My Vibe" cut off the Good Kid, M.A.A.D City slab, Rick Ross meditates on mortality, street beef, and vengeance.

"Sometimes I look in the mirror, I can't believe I'm alive," the Bawse bellows on the freestyle, released last night. "Disrespectful to niggas that want take me alive/Wishing death on you niggas, we'll never see eye to eye/Somehow I pray for you niggas at the very same time."
