Rick Ross on Gangster Disciples, Canceled MMG Tour: "Never Was It Due to Any Threats"

"I'm a certified man. I am a real boss."

That's the official Rick Ross response to all the suckas who think that death threats from a North Carolina chapter of the Gangster Disciples could keep the Bawse from doin' work.

Last week, GDs from NC warned Rozay about exploiting the gang by using the name of its founder, Larry Hoover, in the lyrics to "B.M.F. (Blowin' Money Fast)" and the six-point star in the album art for the Black Bar Mitzvah mixtape.

On Friday, the last six shows of the MMG Tour were abruptly canceled. And many fans and bloggers assumed these two incidents were linked.

But the Bawse says, Nah. And yesterday, he visited 99 Jamz's Felisha Monet to untwist this shit.

UPDATE Rick Ross told by Gangster Disciples in Chicago: "F#$% you ... Cut the check." And the Chi-Town po-po are investigating.

Echoing the argument put forward by Maybach Music Groups reps in a conversation with Crossfade last week (as well as a statement released to the media), the Bawse tells 99 Jamz's Felisha Monet that the MMG tour was halted because of poor communication and promoter incompetence.

"I canceled the rest of the tour," Ross insists, "due to the promoter wasn't really handling his business, you know what I'm saying.

"He canceled a date of mine. And I was going to Tucson, Arizona ... This was maybe a week and a half ago. And I just made a call to the dude, Sean G, and let him know, 'That ain't how we move. Let's just communicate a little better.'

"So the other day, I woke up and realized that two more dates had been canceled. So I just felt like there was some power that I needed to take away from homie. So I canceled the rest of the dates I had arranged with him."

Moreover, Rozay flatly denies that a beef with Gangster Disciples caused the MMG Tour's cancelation. "Never was it due to any threats."

"Let me explain something to you," Ross says, interrupting Monet as she tries to ask a GDs-related question. "I'm a certified man. I am a real boss. And this is something that everybody need to understand: Gangstas move in silence.

"And in situations like that, I just remember something an old-school Dade County gangster told me a long time ago," the MMG honcho continues, "Any dude can stand in the crowd with 30, 40 dudes and everybody real. Everybody trill. Everybody 'bout that life. Everybody gangsta.

"But when the choppers come out, everybody fold."

"More importantly, anybody that understand anything about GDs, it's all about growth and development. Anybody that knew anything about the old man, Mr. Hoover. That's why I put him in my song 'cause I respected his scriptures, his philosophies. It's all about support. It's all about comin' up. It's just not about somebody, one sucka that got a personal vendetta. That's something that we gonna address.

"Other than that, it's just not the case. I was just in Chicago a week and a half ago. That's the birthplace of the GDs. And if I go to Chicago to handle my bidness like I did, I have no problem goin' to North Carolina or South Carolina, where the ladies are brown skin, brown eyes, they got nice curls, and they make the best apple pie.

"So don't never get it twisted ... Ricky Rozay is a Bawse!"
