From puppets to children's musicals, Jim Camacho has held a steady musical presence in South Florida for nearly 30 years. And this weekend, the former Goods frontman will be jamming to his latest single, "Please Come Home," along with all his classics, at Luna Star Cafe with local Hialeah "power pop group," Humbert.

Get ready for a Big Night in Little Haiti as the Rhythm Foundation brings the "konpa funk" vibes of Haiti's Magnum Band to the Little Haiti Cultural Center for its monthly fête de la musique.

After a three-year hiatus, Death to the Sun is back in the 305. In proper farewell-to-summer fashion, this year's 27-band, ten-hour underground music festival is going down at the North Beach Bandshell, just steps away from the ocean. So soak up the last rays of the hot summer sun, party till you're sunburnt, then party some more with the coolest musical acts of the city.

Help preserve the River of Grass and join the Love the Everglades Movement — along with a handful of local tree-hugging musicians — at the Eighth-Annual Everglades Awareness Benefit Concert. “Our goals merge artistic entertainment with educational empowerment, so we can strengthen our community with the vibrancy of art and the vitality of water,” the event’s musical director and the man behind Ploppy Palace Productions, Flash, told New Times in a recent article. "We want the audience to connect with the different organizations and speakers as we work to build up a coalition of active supporters. We want people to be motivated — to spread the knowledge and resources from this event to their friends and families.”

Juke frontman Eric Garcia knows Miami is an urban jungle. So much so, his band's latest EP is named after his own home, which just so happens to be located in a secluded area of South Miami surrounded by palm trees and mangroves: Jungle House Sessions. And this weekend, Garcia and his "post-blues" crew will be celebrating the Magic City's madness — and the release of their third studio production — at Blackbird Ordinary.

"The ideal show would be at a place like Churchill's, surrounded by friends, where the crowd is right up close to us," Red Nectar's "designated shredder" Bernardo told New Times earlier this summer. While Kill Your Idol and Churchill's Pub are located on polar opposite sides of town, the two bars share a similar vibe. So rock to the "smooth indie-tinged fuzz rock" sounds of Bernado and his crew, beachside at KYI this weekend.

Only in Hialeah do you spot the same guy walking down Okeechobee Road with a cowboy hat on his head and a banjo strapped around his torso. Only in Hialeah would you find an auto repair shop named after James Cameron's 2009 flick Avatar, that for copyright purposes (of course), switches the "v" to "b." And only in Hialeah would you find un viejito en bicicleta selling avocado por un peso. When you think about it, there's actually a never-ending list of "only in Hialeah" moments. But this weekend, la Ciudad que Progresa will be celebrating its quirks at the #ONLYINHIALEAH Community Block Party in the Leah Arts District with art, food trucks, live theater by CircX, poetry by O, Miami, and good music.

From sharing stages with Dat Politics, Yacht, and M83, indie pop-syth diva Oly is gonna get weird with all the kids at Gramps. While this weekend's gig is mainly an "intimate gathering of friends," it'll give the Magic City a taste of her upcoming EP set to be released in December. Not a bad way to end your Sunday.
