"I’m going to try to bring soul back to what’s happening right now in dance music," Erick Morillo told New Times last year when asked about his label, Subliminal Records. "I love that dance music has done what it’s done in America, but now that it’s become the dominant culture, I think it’s time for people to start opening up their minds a little bit and realize that it’s more than just progressive house and pop records on top of those." What do retired rock stars do when they want to relive the sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll of their glory days? Call up their fellow retired rock buddies and put on a Guitar Gods Festival, of course. Watch Yngwie Malmsteen play his "Apreggios From Hell" as Nicko McBrain, Gus G, Rudy Sarzo, and other rock legends of the ilk join him at the North Beach Bandshell.

Roots, world music, Latin, R&B, reggae, and zydeco — one of the country's most diverse music festivals is back! Going down at the Virginia Key Beach Park for the fifth year in a row, the Virginia Key GrassRoots Festival will be making its four-day return to the Magic City this week. With camping, workshops, booths, and even kids activities, this will be one fest definitely worth going to.

Bryan Adams may be known for his great American classics like "Summer of '69," "(Everything I Do) I Do It For You," and "Please Forgive Me," but after more than 30 years, the Canadian singer is still belting out hits. This week, Adams will be taking over the Fillmore Miami Beach as he brings his Get Up! Tour — named after his 13th studio album which was released in October — to Miami.

Miami's favorite Wynwood hangout is turning seven! In celebration of its birthday, the Electric Pickle will be throwing a two-day rager jam-packed with music, dancing, and lots of booze. The party kicks off on Friday with live music from Ketchy Shuby, the Hongs, the Grey 8s, and MillionYoung, along with a DJ performance from Eagles & Butterflies. On Saturday, Soul Clap, Doc Martin, Will Renuart, Patrick Walsh, Arremer Jack, and a special guest will take over EP for the night; a Get Lost-style daytime rager complete with gourmet breakfast at 7 a.m. on the newly sheltered Pickle Patio tops off the fete. It’s tropical and very dance-oriented. I grew up on freestyle and Miami bass, and I didn’t really know what hip-hop was until the mid ‘90s. It’s always been a party vibe, from the Miami bass days to even the moombahton days to now." After a four-year hiatus, Mutemath's latest video, "Monument," hits fans right in the feels. Inspired by Charles "LaLa" Evans — an 82-year-old man who transformed his home into a memorial in honor of his wife of almost 60 years, Louise, after she died in 2011 — the video and theme of the their latest album, Vitals, is a reflection of how the New Orleans band has grown throughout the years.

In celebration of the 35th anniversary of his fifth studio album, The River, and release of The Ties That Bind: The River Collection — which includes 52 tracks on four CDs with unreleased material, along with four hours of never-before-seen video — Springsteen will be returning to South Florida and performing The River in its entirety.
