Lexus is hawking its new brand of hybrid cars July 20 at Grand Central with an event it dubs "The Darker Side of Green." Scary, y'all! The debate will pit environmental journalist Amanda Little (the proponent) against professional cyclist Chris Horner (the skeptic). All these shenanigans will be moderated by, er, comedian Jamie Kennedy. Yea, we don't get it either.

But aside from the debate, there are far better reason to go, like open bar provided by Patron Spirits, as well as DJ sets by the Misshapes and Yeah Yeah Yeahs guitarist Nick Zinner.

Also expect an appearance by Bronques of Lastnightsparty, who was here this past weekend documenting the downtown mayhem. New York's event in April also had a lot of actual celebrity appearances, but this is Miami so we aren't holding our breath.

But we haven't event gotten to the best news? This is all free! All you have to do is RSVP at lexusdebates.com. Party starts at 8 p.m.; 21 and over with ID. And yes, the event is all about brand awareness and the like, but who are we to say no to anything free?
