Bust out your top hat and tails, Basel-ites.
For the fourth consecutive year, chi-chi Parisian nightclub Le Baron will be hosting its Art Basel Miami Beach week pop-up party at the Delano Hotel.
As the photo evidence from last year's opening night attests, this ultraexclusive arty party always attracts a superchic, sophisticated crowd of mustache-twirlers, French waifs, dudes in blue bowties, sexy gallerists, and even the occasional cameo from Hipster Hitler.
For Basel 2011, though, Le Baron's got a special surprise, teaming with Pernod Absinthe to open a second pop-up called Paris Paris in the Shelborne Hotel's karaoke bar Studio.
According to Pernod's people, "the club will recreate the unforgettable atmosphere of [Le Baron's] Parisian club of the same name that closed its doors in 2005."
Pernod Absinthe's Green Beast Drink Recipe
An original creation by mixologist Charles Vexenat
-One shot of Pernod Absinthe
-One shot of sugar syrup
-One shot of fresh squeezed lime juice
-Four shots of cold water
-Four thin slices of cucumber
-Ice
There will be "cabaret performances, live shows, costumes, and rock 'n' roll karaoke" -- not to mention mixologist Charles Vexenat hawking his original Pernod creation, the Green Beast, an absinthe-based punch so delicious (and potent) that you'll probably start hallucinating about singing "Sous le Ciel de Paris" with Édith Piaf, Hipster Hitler, and a pretty little emerald fairy.
