When listening to Julieta Venegas' 2013 disc Los Momentos, longtime fans might have noticed a clear shift in her style -- something that might have been informed by recently becoming a mother.
"Time-wise, my days have changed," Venegas says. "I have to accommodate my time differently, and also, I think I am interested in writing about deeper things.
"It was not something I thought about too much, it was just something I realized that I wanted to go deeper into things, not just simple stories about falling into and out of love, but something more."

That desire can clearly be heard on the record. The title track, for instance, has poignant lyrics that speak of the pain of realizing that certain hopes and goals will never be achieved.
"It is based on a poem by Jorge Luis Borges called 'Los Perdidos' ['The Lost']," Venegas explains. "It's about wondering about things that didn't happen."
She also wrote "Oye,"a touching song about her daughter, Simona. "It's like a feeling of entrega [giving] -- It's my way of describing that feeling."
Expect Venegas to focus on the contemplativeness of Los Momentos, but her trademark accordion is sure to be part of the show too.
"It's a combination of songs," she says. "The sound of the show is based on the latest album, but we play songs from most of the other albums. I like to do that to find a sort of direction between what we have done and we what are doing now."
