Somehow this slipped under our radar before, but here's a seeming last-minute booking that may entice the hip-hop heads to get out to a South Beach megaclub. Jay Electronica, one of the Internet's Favorite Rappers, is set to perform at Cameo Saturday night.

While he first gained his hype status in 2008, Jay Elec's been proving worthy of it in the ensuing two years, with a small string of mixtapes and a couple singles -- "Exhibit A" is pretty damn near ubiquitous, with almost every rapper ever spitting a verse over its beat on a mixtape somewhere.

Still, he has yet to release a proper studio album, but a pair of singles released in the past few months may point to increased studio activity. April 4 brought "A Million in the Morning," the title track to a documentary of the same name. And just 26 days later, he followed it up with "The Ghost of Christopher Wallace," which features an appropriate cameo from Biggie BFF Diddy.

Diddy loves Cameo, so if he's in town, who knows if he'll show up on Saturday for a few bars? Listen to the two newest songs, plus the soon-to-be-classic "Exhibit A" after the jump.

Jay Electronica. 11 p.m. Saturday, June 12. Cameo, 1445 Washington Ave., Miami Beach. Tickets cost $20 in advance from wantickets.com; age 21 and up. 305-532-2667; cameomiami.com
