The room starts to spin. Bitties shaking their stuff seem to move in slow motion. And the man behind the decks raises his arms in the air in admiration of the hot, hot mess he has created. Behold Hardwell.
On Friday, August 19, DJ-producer Robbert Hardwell is bringing his big-room house sound to SET for what's sure to be a sweaty free-for-all of spilled drinks, gyrating pelvises, and the occasional glow stick.
The 23-year-old Dutchman (or shall we say Dutchkid?) began his DJ career at the tender age of 13 and he has since risen to fame as a producer, label manager, and radio host. He's collaborated with acts like Tiësto, Fedde Le Grand, Bob Sinclar, and Flo Rida.
The teaser for his record "Encoded" was viewed 700,000 times on YouTube, and reached the Beatport Top 10 once it was released. And according to his official website, Hardwell takes his love for house music "very serious." Good to know the Dutchkid's keeping it real.
Hardwell. Friday, August 19. SET, 320 Lincoln Rd., Miami Beach. The party starts at 11 p.m. and tickets cost $40 via wantickets.com. Call 305-531-2800 or visit setmiami.com.
