Fool's Gold Day Off, the hip-hop/electronic music festival presented by Fool's Gold Records, was a good thing for Miami music. Coming to the 305 for the first time outside of Art Basel last year, the event  helped jumpstart the fall concert season, providing a smooth transition into III Points.

Last year, FGDO brought Flosstradamus, A-Trak, Vic Mensa, Laidback Luke, Alison Wonderland, and more to Mana Wynwood.

This year's lineup is no snooze either: Joey Bada$$, Hudson Mohawke, Lil Yachty, Playboi Carti, Ape Drums, Nick Catchdubs, River Tiber, Bosco & Speakerfoxxx, and Damaged Goods were all set to return to Mana. But this week we learned that, due to fear of the Zika virus that's been confirmed in Wynwood, the day-long event was moving from Mana Wynwood to Fort Lauderdale's Revolution Live. On an Instagram video, A-Trak, the DJ who founded Fool's Gold Records, explained his reasoning for the move.

"You might have seen in the news this Zika virus situation is pretty serious. It's very real in Miami right now," he says into the camera. "There's even sections in the city that have been identified as higher risk. Now, our event was going to be in Wynwood. We're being told by authorities who strongly suggest we move it to another area. That is a high-risk zone. So out of concern for people's safety, which is our first priority, we are moving this event to Fort Lauderdale to Revolution Live."

A-Trak goes on to say that tickets bought for the Mana concert will still be honored at Revolution Live.

Wynwood has seen its share of negative effects thanks to Zika, which was first confirmed in the area at the end of July. The restaurant industry has been hit especially hard. The Wynwood Yard had to shut down and three of its 65 employees ended up testing positive for Zika.

But, musically speaking, this is the biggest blow Wynwood has been dealt thanks to the mosquito-transmitted disease. Luckily, III Points ain't going nowhere and, hopefully, as the cold weather nears, Zika panic will subside in Wynwood. And artists will once again embrace the neighborhood.

Because this sucks.
