You know, that enormous arty party when the entire city becomes a wonderland filled with work from some of the world's most talented creatives?

And sure, art may be the focus of the show. But music is the melody behind it. Here are the five best concerts during Basel week.

Alabama Shakes. Wednesday, December 4, 8 p.m., Fillmore Miami Beach, 1700 Washington Ave., Miami Beach; 305-673-7300; fillmoremb.com. Tickets cost $36.50 to $45 plus fees via livenation.com. All ages. Don't worry, baby. All you gotta do is "Hang Loose" and "Hold On" for another couple days. Then you can kick off Basel week like a true Southern hipster with the Alabama Shakes. Fun fact: It isn't just a name. This band's actually from the Heart of Dixie, y'all!

RJD2. With Ynot. Wednesday, December 4, 9 p.m., Bardot, 3456 N. Miami Ave., Miami; 305-576-5570; bardotmiami.com. Tickets cost $25 to $35 via showclix.com. Who is RJD2? Nah, he's no trashcan-shaped robot. He's a human DJ dude from Ohio who's been making beats for 15 years. He's dropped slabs on Definitive Jux and XL Recordings. He's produced for Aesop Rock, Murs, and Mos Def. Oh, and he's also the guy behind the Mad Men theme. Nah-nah, nah-nah, nah-nah, nah-nah, nah-nah, nah-nah, nah-nah-naaahhhh.

CANCELED Chris Cornell. With Bhi Bhiman. Thursday, December 5, 8 p.m., Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, 1300 Biscayne Boulevard, Miami; 305-949-6722; arshtcenter.org. Tickets cost $46 to $66 plus fees via arshtcenter.org. The days of grunge may be far behind us. But as one of heavy metal's top vocalists (despite his, uh, 2009 Timbaland-produced electro-pop stinker, Scream), Chris Cornell's killer pipes and a solo acoustic "Black Hole Sun" are definitely worth a Thursday at the Arsht.

Danny Brown. Thursday, December 5, 8 p.m., Culture Room, 3045 N. Federal Hwy., Fort Lauderdale; 954-564-1074; cultureroom.net. Tickets cost $18 plus fees via ticketmaster.com. If you're in need of a party tutor, look no further 'cause Detroit wild boy Danny Brown will get you zooted. With a chipped tooth and a hipster Don King do (and the curious ability to wordlesslessly convince females to perform fellatio on him in public), this dude knows good times. Just do as Danny does and holler, "Dip, I dip, you dip, dip, I dip, you dip, I dip."
