"All these megastar house DJ/producers seem to come from Holland. Is it something in the water?"

We can finally put that tired-ass question to bed, because an entire documentary has been dedicated to the incredible significance and domination of Dutch artists in dance music.

Dutch Influence takes an inside look at the work of such EDM gods as Tiësto, Armin Van Buuren, Hardwell, Afrojack and more to get to the bottom of every journalism school grad's favorite go-to music question, and it's hitting O Cinema this week.

"America was leading in hip-hop, R&B, jazz, but not house music," said Duncan Stutterheim in the official film trailer. As CEO of party-production giants ID&T, Stutterheim is behind international hits including the Sensation tours, MysteryLand and even the purchase of Miami's own Life in Color. It's ironic, because house music started and got its name from a club in Chicago, but Stutterheim still has a serious point. The Dutch community has led the development of the house music movement for decades.

"We're a small country, and we want to take over the world," Tiesto said. The filthy rich icon made hi name as a trance warrior, but made the very-public switch to house music in 2011, because duh, Dutch house is the biggest thing ever.

The trailer continues with big blasts of heavy bass, flashing lights and an insane array of interviews culminating a veritable who's-who of modern dance. It kind of leaves you convinced that all the big-name DJs are Dutch.

"The music-infused film, Dutch Influence brings us inside the velvet rope, exposing a never-before-seen perspective on the many highs and lows surrounding the festival circuit lifestyle," according to a press release. "Movie-goers will experience the house music phenomenon through rare and transcending moments in Ibiza, London, Amsterdam, and one of the biggest house music events in the world, 'Miami Music Week.'"

Hey Miami! We're stars of the film, too! That's as good a reason as any to check out the premiere. You can catch Dutch Influence at O Cinema's Wynwood location Thursday, Nov. 21, through Sunday, Nov. 24. It's a must-see for any house music fan, but please, leave your finger gloves at home.
