The Pimp With the Limp is back.
It's been a rough few years for booty bass pioneer and radio host DJ Laz. In 2012, the Miami legend suddenly and shockingly split with Power 96, ending a 22-year tenure. At the time, he planned "to take the boat out for a little while." But within 30 days, Laz had already signed on as an employee of Spanish Broadcasting System, hosting morning drive time for Los Angeles' KXOL 96.3 FM and later Miami's DJ 106.7 FM.
By November 2013, though, Laz was without a job again. And then, certainly worst of all, he found himself at the center of an awful accident, piloting the boat that killed Ernesto Hernandez, a 23 year old who got caught in the propeller while trying to free the DJ's stranded vessel from Nixon Sandbar.

But despite it all, Laz is set to return to Miami radio next week.
Like his other a.m. endeavors, this new program will be called The DJ Laz Morning Show. And it will air every weekday from 5 a.m. to 10 on HITS 97.3 WFLC, a Cox Media Group station.
His new cohost will be Kimmy, "who comes over," as the Cox Media press release reads, "from WFLC's sister station WEDR," otherwise known as 99 JAMZ.
In an announcement via instagram.com/DJLaz973, he writes: "Get ready South Florida.... Radio is about to be fun again! I'm so excited to get back to doing what I love in the city I love."
The new DJ Laz Morning show debuts Monday, August 25.
"Welcome back," the Pimp With the Limp says, "to your morning habit."
