Broken beat may not be the newest electronic flavor of the month any more, but the individual members of that scene's biggest collective name, London's Bugz in the Attic Crew, have continued to put out quality choons.

The brightest star to rise from that collective seems to be Daz-I-Kue, who's relocated to ATL from LDN and, unsurprisingly, soaked up a more American influence on his newer material. Newer Daz material sounds like some outer-space soul, influenced heavily, it seems, by American disco. (Visit his MySpace page for a re-rub of Sister Sledge's "We Are Family," for one, or check out "In the Middle," released past April, which borders on straightforward soulful house.)

Still, no matter in what direction he's going at any particular moment,

Daz's DJ sets are legendary and epic, and always danceable. He returns

to Miami tonight to headline Champion Sound's anniversary party at

Electric Pickle. As always, resident DJs A-Train, Sire Esq., Manuvers,

Lumin, and Mr. Brown also handle decks, and drink specials abound.

Daz-I-Kue. Wednesday, July 21. Electric Pickle, 2826 N. Miami Ave., Miami. Age 21 and up with ID. 305-456-5613; electricpicklemiami.com
