Whenever Crossfade wants to flood the interior of our automobiles with a non-stop stream of mediocre alt-rock, we listen to 93 Rock. So tonight, we hit six on our pre-programmed station selector and ... WTF? It's Christmas, er, "holiday" music.
Yes. Apparently, Cox Radio has killed the Rock, transforming 93.1 FM into "South Florida's Official Holiday Music Station." The news is all over the airwaves, the website, and shock jock Bubba the Love Sponge's Twitter.
We've sent the following five questions to Cox's regional media contacts: (1) When? (2) Why? (3) Will there be a format change? (4) How long will the public be forced to endure the festive nightmare of 24/7 "holiday" music? and (5) How many people got fired 35 days before Christmas? But since it's Saturday night at 11 p.m., we're still waiting for official comment.
