The ForePLAY has ended. So has the "hottest hip-hop Friday in the world."

Yep, Club Play has closed. And taking over its place is SoBe's newest part spot, Ivy Nightclub.

Since its grand opening last month, Ivy's already hosted some of the biggest names in the biz, including the world's richest rapper (AKA Diddy), French Montana, and LA Riots.

Claiming to be a club for "the most discerning party-goers and trendsetters alike," Ivy boasts a "state-of-the-art sound and light system," "custom-made DJ booths," and dancers in black-and-gold bikinis with fishnet stockings.

Divided into two floors, the club's main room (or "the centerpiece") is where all the action goes down, while the mezzanine aims for a more intimate VIP vibe.

Prior to the unveiling of Ivy, 1045 Fifth Street was home to Club Play for almost four years. Named one of the best hip-hop clubs in the 305 by Crossfade, the spot silently shut its doors late last year, almost 12 months after its grand re-opening in January 2013.

The venue was purchased on June 26 by the Comras Company for $4,350,000, according to property records.

Given Miami's notoriously fickle nightlife scene, where some multi-million dollar clubs, like Adore, close after only four months in business, only time will tell if Ivy will beat the odds.

For now, at least there's a new "lavish nightlife" party spot in town.
