A tragic scene at a local car wash has left one man dead and his killer on the loose.

As already noted by Miami New Times' Riptide, Miami rapper Bizzle (born Robert Labranche) was shot and killed last night by an unidentified assassin at NW Seventh Avenue and NW 54th Street in Liberty City. He was 37 years old.

The altercation took place at around 8 p.m. when Bizzle and an unidentified man began arguing. According to police, shots were fired, fatally wounding the longtime rapper and prompting a countywide manhunt.

Bizzle's two young children were inside his SUV at the scene of the murder. But as Miami Police Department spokesperson Det. Willie Moreno tells the Miami Herald, neither witnessed their father's brutal slaying.

"Fortunately they didn't see the incident," Moreno says, "They were on the other side of the building."

Word that Bizzle had been gunned down spread quickly. Police say that a group of mourners gathered at the crime scene shortly after the first units responded.

"You could see the large crowd behind me," Moreno says. "You could see as soon as a family member run under the police line, and he obviously wanted to grab that family member, he wanted to grab him for one last time, possibly.

"You saw the emotions of the community, just going in with him."

Best known on the Miami rap scene as a strip club star who'd spawned hits like "Lip Biting Animal" and "Naked Hustle," Bizzle was also an independent label boss and a bike junkie.

He met and loved Uncle Luke. He hosted Stripper Yacht parties during Memorial Day weekend. And he posted Twitpics of cash stacks.

But even with all of that "Naked Hustle" and his big-baller boasts, Bizzle was a family man with an Instagram account dedicated almost entirely to photos of his daughters, their mother, and inspirational notes like "Did you know God loves you?"

Call homicide detectives at 305-603-6350 or Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477 with any tips related to Robert "Bizzle" Labranche's murder.
