There have been a lot of rumors circulating regarding bachata boy band and all-around global superstars Aventura, particularly those of the breakup variety.
As early as last summer, gossip began to swirl that the New York-based band comprising Anthony "Romeo" Santos, Henry Santos Jeter, and brothers Max and Lenny Santos were calling it quits after the massive success of their tour in support of their 2009 release The Last.
The split seemed unthinkable to fans, and anybody with an iota of logic. The release broke all kinds of records and not only perched their Spanish language album atop Latin charts for the past two years, but even placed them amongst Billboard's Top 200 overall, where they held their own with general markets superstars. Beyond that, their U.S. tour earned them a number 25 spot on the Top 100 tours of the year, netting them some $12.1 million.
Still, the deal frontman Anthony Santos' reportedly inked with Jive Records for five albums worth $10 million seemed ominous. But fans can rest easy, as Aventura have come out publicly in recent days to squash rumors and insist that they'll be releasing another album after a much needed break. The album is expected to be released in 2012.
