Sharam Tayebi - known to the dance community as just Sharam, for short - first made a name as half of the progressive house duo Deep Dish. As an individual producer, though, Sharam's style has sort of been the yang to partner Ali "Dubfire" Shirazinia's ying. While the Dubfire excursions have been darker and more minimal than the usual Deep Dish oeuvre, Sharam has kept it big-room-friendly. To get an idea, he was responsible for that remix of Eddie Murphy's "Party All The Time" that was, for better or for worse, inescapable a couple years back.

That's not to say that Sharam is into novelty or cheese, though. His compositions are still expansive and nuanced, but forever thumping, building, and intent on keeping the party going. His sets at Winter Music Conference have become much-heralded and legendary, and his parties at Conference this past March were meant to promote his first original artist album, Get Wild, released late that month. The lead title single featured singer Daniel Bedingfield and was an instant, massive dancefloor smash. The rest of the disc, meanwhile, features similarly pop-friendly collaborations with the likes of Tommy Lee, Kid Cudi, Diddy, and even Chuck D and Patsy Cline. Expect most of these tracks, and plenty other good-time sounds, at Gryphon this Saturday.

Sharam. Saturday, September 19. Gryphon, 5711 Seminole Way, Hollywood. Doors open at 10 p.m. Tickets cost $25 in advance from wantickets.com. Ages 21+ with ID. 954-581-5454; gryphon-club.com
