Joey's

The staff at Joey's knows the names of its regular customers and their favorite dishes and signature wines. The servers still recommend the specials, mostly because they change daily and are always worth trying. It's that kind of place. Joey's, established in 2008, was one of the few restaurants to inhabit Wynwood long before the neighborhood became a cultural mecca. Besides serving some of the best thin-crust pizza in town, Joey's offers simple Italian food with complex flavor profiles. Half-orders of freshly made pasta are no longer available, but that's OK, because you'll want a full portion. Order everything family-style so you can indulge in Joey's pizza (tomato sauce, Portobello mushrooms, mozzarella, shallots, and oregano), as well as some antipasti (try the octopus with artichokes and endive) and an entree (go with whatever daily special grabs your attention). The cozy interior is perfect for sharing dinner with loved ones, and on a cool Miami night, the private terrace, ensconced in charming shrubbery and finished with turf and pots of orange blossoms, is enchanting.
