Hidden on an overgrown side street near the ocean, this hostel/local hideaway known for its pool parties and friendly, communal vibe was actually inspired by summer camp. And that’s excatly what the North Miami Beach property feels like — but with high class booze. The Broken Shaker, with its vintage wallpaper and wooden paneling, serves as a Pharmacia of sorts, creating herbal concoctions that are paired with unique local foods from time to time; however, the hostel is currently working on installing its own restaurant/bar/lounge in early 2014.
