When it comes to art collecting, average joes tend to be straight out of luck. Art Basel isn't designed for the ordinary person — those price points are made for the Beyoncés and Dan Bilzerians of the world.

But Yo Miami's Average Joe Sundays are everything Basel isn't. Launched more than three years ago by Yo Miami founder Yuval Ofir, the gatherings, held the first Sunday of each month, offer an afternoon of immersion in Miami's eclectic art and culture scene. Leave the snobbery at the door.

From the success of these down-to-earth events came the Spin-Off Sale, a Second Saturday event at Concrete Beach Brewery dedicated to local art and craft brews.

"This version differs from our monthly Average Joe Sundays held at our gallery and artist collective space in Little Haiti, in that it's just a taste of all the other cultural aspects we bring together at the original [sale]," Ofir explains. "The Spin-Off Show at Concrete Beach Brewery focuses on art since they already have the craft brews down at the venue."

Each month on Second Saturday, the team brings in four artists who live paint from 7 until 10 p.m. or later. "In addition to the live painting, each artist is given a section of the wall in the social hall to display their work, where it remains available for purchase for the rest of the month," Ofir says.

The November edition will feature a lineup of artists that includes Registered ArtistDavel, Monique LassooijIvette Cabrera, and Natalia Molina.

Visitors can grab a beer, get inspired by some outstanding talent, and maybe even head home with an affordable piece for their collection. Because this is Miami, and if you don't have an art collection, what are you doing with your life?

"It's a great way for visitors to get to interact with some of the best local artists around and ask them about their inspiration and see their artistic processes in action. And keeping it limited to four artists means that each artist gets their time to shine throughout the night without feeling cluttered or lumped in a pile."

The Average Joe Spin-Off Sale
7 p.m. Saturday, November 14, at Concrete Beach Brewery, 325 NW 24th St., Miami. Admission is free. Visit facebook.com/YOmiami.
