The independent arts organization, RAW: Natural Born Artists, prides itself on being for artists by artists. With the art season ready to start, they've stepped up their international presence with numerous shows occurring in tandem this week across the globe.

All the major art hubs in their domain -- the U.S., Canada, Australia and the UK -- will showcase handpicked talent from the fields of film, fashion, music, visual art, hair and makeup, photography and more. With a mission statement of providing independent artists in the first decade of their careers with the "tools, resources and exposure needed to inspire and cultivate creativity," RAW has their hands full.

Their season runs from February through October and culminates with an awards ceremony in January in Hollywood where the balloting and judging is comprised of a panel, members of the artistic community, and the public. As an artists for artists operation, this ultimately comes down to a healthy level of competition between themselves in their chosen fields.

This showcases will feature live music by Lesley B., Chaise Candie and Lady Lama, body painting by Raven and a performance by contemporary burlesque troupe the TASTE Ladies. Hair stylist Marques Scholten and makeup artist Shelly Jo Street will represent the beauty talent tool, and the fashion portion will have locals as well as featured artists from Bohten, Helen Rebane, Hadascha and the SVG Collection.

The visual arts are another large pot of homegrown and imported talent like Tracy Guiteau, Daniel Sixto, Carlos Fuenmayor, Yana Kolesnikova, Rob Regis, and Madison Bloch. Photographers AAKABO, Fabian Suarez, Lina Espada, Michelle Aguirre, Giancarlo Ciavaldini, and Marcos Gonzalez will be exhibiting. There will be live painting by Jean Paul Senior, Tuto and others, as well as well as chance to win a painting by Dani Betan and a $250 certificate towards a ceramic body facsimile from Hard Bodies Yo.

This Yelp sponsored event at LMNT costs $20 at the door but tickets are available through the individual artist's RAW pages for $15, which goes toward their vox populi grading in the chase of the January award ceremony. There will be a cash bar and a "small bites" menu available and cocktail attire is strongly encouraged.
