James, 28, a regular face on the Miami nightlife scene, was officially missing for about 38 hours. James' father, Leonard, filed a missing persons report with the Pembroke Pines Police Department. James' friends mounted a large social media effort to piece together her possible whereabouts.

Both Leonard James and his daughter's friends maintain her disappearing was highly out of character.
