Miami may be one of the vainest cities in the country -- but at least we look good doing it. In that spirit, we're indulging our love of the superficial by spotlighting fashion finds in the 305.
The Find: A digital print fabric loop from Habit Boutique by S.Marcos. While this is supposed to a scarf, this circle of sheer fabric with frayed edge details can be much more than that to a resourceful dresser. Try a sheer, tied beach cover-up, a belted shawl/shirt, or create your own hyphenated hybrid out of this printed fabric swath reminiscent of a pixelated day on the boat.
The Shop: Habit Boutique has been around a long time by Miami standards, established in 2008. Located on a side street in Coral Gables, Habit is a lunch time pick-me-up for neighborhood workers looking to score a quick switch for a Friday night, after-work date, or more likely, a fixer-upper for a lunch time spill situation (darn you spaghetti!). Other notable items available right now are snakeskin iPad cases, some easy-to-wear patterned tops, and skinny blue pants.
The Reason: Maybe you haven't noticed, but we're fans of a good multi-use garment. (See: the "Jaweater", and the "beach" bag.) This loop of fabric is both useful and, in its own only-in-Miami way, totally timeless. The Miami look is defined by a season-less wardrobe, accentuated by hints that you do, in fact, know what season it is. A sheer, totally useless scarf, that doubles as a beach cover-up, seems so, so right.

The Style: Digital prints have been all over the runways since Rodarte decided to stop pretending computers didn't exist and print landscapes straight onto their dresses a few seasons ago. As is the status quo today in the fashion world, everyone quickly took the cue of the Mulleavy sisters and suddenly it seemed so silly that prints obviously made with the aid of technology hadn't been as omnipresent as LOL or JK or YOLO (ugh). Mary Katrantzou, is currently leading the pack of new digital print makers with her red carpet-ready, digital-looking dresses.
The styling simple on a piece like this because it basically does all the work for you. Pick out a color or two to highlight from within the pattern and find some solids in your closet that you know will go or pair it with another pattern of the same color scheme or sized print for a more forward look.
