We love the DIY culture. There's something about buying an old, beat up piece of furniture with a beautiful skeleton, taking the whole thing apart and building the frame up from scratch. It's like completely rebuilding your sad, crappy life.

Though we love the thought of it, the time and effort required to do this massive undertaking is a bit more than we can actually handle. That's why we loved Found Miami Design.

They've relocated and they're throwing a party tonight for their new digs! Now we love them even more.

We'd pop in every weekend to see what amazing vintage pieces the mother and two daughters team had remastered, what new artist pieces they'd decided to hang on their walls, and what they were currently working on in-store. But then, all of a sudden, a Craigslist ad went up announcing their pieces for sale, the cool graffitied walls were painted stark white and they closed shop ... until now.

They've opened up a new storefront a little further up north in the MiMo District. But as co-owner Sloane Solomon puts it, "We decided to move because while we love Wynwood, we felt it was more dedicated to the arts rather than furniture." She adds, "There is a huge restoration effort being made by the inhabitants of the MiMo District (myself included, I live in Belle Meade) and I love the idea of restoring the old instead of installing the new, which is precisely what we do!"

The Solomon team has carefully selected each and every piece in the new store. Right now they're showcasing a series of French and American artist proof lithographs from the early '60s to the late '70s in addition to all of the furniture.

The best part of their new digs? Tonight they're hosting the first of many "Vintage Night Out" parties. All of the stores in the antiques plaza where they're now located will be open from 5 to 10pm, showing off their amazing antiques and art. "There's certainly something for everyone in every price range," Solomon continues. "This is a great social event to meet people who love and breathe antiques and art and all things home decor related. And best of all there will be free food and drinks at every store!"

Found Miami Design presents A Vintage Night Out, tonight from 5 to 10 p.m. 8650 Biscayne Blvd. Call 305-438-9311 or visit foundmiamidesign.com.
