Film fans got a glimpse of what is to come when Entertainment Weekly released the first X-Men: Apocalypse photos late last week. The film features Oscar Isaac, who we recently named Miami's Best Movie Star, as the blue-skinned-alien-villain Apocalypse. Isaac's character in Apocalypse is unearthed after 5,000 years and recruits the help of four mutants—Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Psylocke (Olivia Munn), Storm (Alexandra Shipp) and Angel (Ben Hardy)—to destroy the world.

According to Isaac fans will soon find out his character is nothing to be messed with. “He’s believed to be the first mutant, whatever that means. He is the creative-slash-destructive force of this earth. When things start to go awry, or when things seem like they’re not moving towards evolution, he destroys those civilizations.”

Beforehand Isaac was well aware of the role he would be taking on in the new X-Men film, mainly because he's been a fan of the series his entire life. He was happy to agree to play the role of a character that once terrified him as a child.

“I grew up reading the comics and I actually collected X Factor when I was younger and that was when Apocalypse first showed up,” Isaac told Entertainment Weekly on the set of Apocalypse. “And I was particularly freaked out with like the second coming and the end of the world, the apocalypse, so when there was a character that embodied that, and even from Sunday school, I remember the four horsemen and all that kind of imagery that’s still to this day some of the scariest imagery I can think of.”

From the sounds of what Isaac is at courtesy to speak about before the film is released, his villainous has quite the ending scenes in the film. “I mean that last battle is going to be pretty insane. I mean, it’s like freaking Apocalypse fighting all of the X-Men. It’s pretty cool.”

Besides Isaac's character, the studio released multiple images of other characters that will be featured in the film:

Alexander Shipp as Storm.

Lana Condor as Jubilee.

Tye Sheridan as Cyclops

Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler

X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters nationwide on May 27, 2016.
