May 3, Bodega Taqueria y Tequila’s Inaugral Taco Eating Contest
Taco lovers near and far united as Bodega Taqueria y Tequila hosted its inaugural taco-eating competition, whose proceeds were donated to Empowered Youth. Sixteen contestants went head-to-head to see who could eat the most tacos in less than ten minutes. A three-way tie was broken by a two-minute sudden-death round, and the winner was ultimately Victor Aldrich.
May 4, Haute Living’s Annual Haute 100 Miami Celebration at Faena
Haute Living held its annual Haute 100 dinner at the luxurious new Faena Hotel to honor the most influential and philanthropic people in Miami. Movie director Brett Ratner was honored with the Outstanding Achievement Award for his philanthropic and business success.

Film director Brett Ratner celebrated two monumental life achievements with friends and industry colleagues at Faena. Guests had a chance to mingle at one of Miami’s most glamorous hotels and sip a new whiskey inspired by Ratner’s historic home – Hilhaven Lodge. 
May 5, World Red Eye Cultural Exchanges Speaker Series: The Next Genesis of Miami Real Estate, Presented by Perrier-Jouët and Tequila Avión
It was a night of celebrating old-school versus new-school as Miami’s most notorious real-estate tycoons were joined by their industry successors in a first-of-its-kind panel discussion on the South Florida market from two generational perspectives. At center stage in Brickell’s El Tucán were panelists: Related Group’s Jorge Pérez and son Jon Paul Pérez; Dezer Development’s Michael Dezer and son Gil Dezer; and Crescent Heights’ Russell Galbut and nephew Keith Menin of Menin Hospitality. The evening was hosted by World Red Eye, along with Perrier-Jouët and Tequila Avión. The occasion served as the second edition of the acclaimed World Red Eye Cultural Exchanges Series.
