Between the New Times Masterminds Awards, The Knight Foundation's art challenge, and The De La Cruz Collection's freshly announced Summer Workshop Series, there's more art money up for grabs in Miami than a big bank bailout.
So get off your tired ass and apply for it. Here are the details.
The De La Cruz Collection is one of Miami's -- and the country's -- premier privately owned art collections. In following their mission to share it with the world, they operate a free museum in the Design District that is open to the public. If you're ever looking for some inspiration, they have three floors' worth of amazing work, as well as a library that will fill your mind with knowledge, and your optic cells with fine visuals.
The Summer Workshop Series will take place from July 5 to August 5, and the collection is looking for artists to be teachers and to come up with ideas for classes in anything from photography to animation, color theory, silk screening, performance art, or whatever else you can think of.
Winners will have all their materials paid for and be compensated monetarily for their time and effort. Send your proposal to [email protected] and call 305-576-6112 for more info.
