In February, New Times reported on the arrest of Salwa Amin, one of the stars of MTV's teen redneck reality series, Buckwild.

But Amin's possession charges were only the beginning of gray skies for the network's latest Jersey Shore-style stereotype-driven television.

Cultist is sad to report that 21-year-old Buckwild cast member Shain Gandee has been found dead, along with his uncle and an unidentified friend.

Details surrounding the story are sparse and grim.

Early yesterday, TMZ reported that Gandee had been missing following a late-night/early-morning four-wheeler excursion with his uncle.

And then today the site followed that story with confirmation that the worst-case scenario had in fact transpired: Shain -- along with his uncle, David Gandee, 48, and an unidentified male companion -- was found dead inside his red Ford Bronco.

MTV issued the following statement:

We are shocked and saddened by the terrible news about Shain Gandee, and those involved in this tragic incident. We are waiting for more information but at this time, our main concern is for the Gandee family and their friends.

Our thoughts and prayers are with them. Shain had a magnetic personality, with a passion for life that touched everyone he met, and we will miss him dearly.
