In fashion, rule bending is expected. But this Friday, Vickie Yooneek from V.Y. Imagery Fashion House isn’t looking to just curve those rules; she wants to break them. Thus, the second-annual runway show Breaking the Laws of Fashion.
Local up-and-coming designers, such as pop-culture-inspired JunesYves and T-shirt line Gold Cigar Gang, will showcase to leading industry professionals and buyers from big-name retail destinations like Mall of America. This high-fashion, futuristic show isn’t exclusive to the business-minded; it welcomes everyone through the doors of Brickell hot spot Avenue D (8 S. Miami Ave,. Miami).
Last year’s event at Trio caused a roaring frenzy of fashionistas enamored by vibrant metallics and sultry laces. This year’s show, hosted by stylist the High Fashion Priest and Alechia Reese of the Girl Rethought Project, will crank up the sass with “timeless classics” exuding an edgy twist.
Model Annaliese Dayes from America’s Next Top Model: British Invasion will fly in from her UK nest to get in on the action, along with other familiar faces such as Def Jam recording artist Jamison.
But don’t just take our word for it. Let the parade of “eccentrically original” clothes speak for themselves.
The festivities run from 6 to 10 p.m. General admission costs $25, and VIP costs $45. Call 954-663-4421 or visit breakingthelawsoffashion2.eventbrite.com.
