Long before Art Basel rolled into town, Art Miami was the main art fair in town, and it has continued to thrive despite, or because of, the competition. The next edition -- held during Basel week, December 2-6 -- will be the fair's 20th overall and the first under a new consortium of owners.

The newly formed Art Miami LLC has officially taken control of the fair from Summit Business Media. The LLC is a partnership consisting of Mike Tansey, Brian Tyler, and seasoned art fair director Nick Korniloff. Tansey and Tyler are described as media vets, and Tansey seems to be a collector. Meanwhile, Nick Korniloff was named director of that fair last year, and now takes an ownership stake.

The group has also reached an agreement with Midtown Miami to keep the fair for the next three seasons in the same location as last year.
