April showers bring a whole lot of gay fun to South Florida. This month the party kicks off with Miami Beach Gay Pride's sixth anniversary, and caps off with Miami's Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. Check out some of our favorite LGBT friendly events we suggest you partake in this month:

Red Carpet Angel Reception at VIP Beach Lounge- Friday, April 10, 7 to 10 p.m.

Elaine Lancaster will host the star studded beach side festivities. The tent is located at Lummus Park, with entrances on 11th Street and Ocean Drive. There’ll be special appearances by WWE wrestler Darren Young, and a special performance by country music star Steve Grand. Tickets range from $65- $100, and can be purchased here.

HRC’s Gay Polo Tournament and Tailgate at The International Polo Club Palm Beach- Saturday, April 11, noon

Polo isn’t just for New England WASPs anymore. HRC is sponsoring the sixth Annual Gay Polo Tournament, complete with a Tailgate competition. If you’re looking to get away from Pride craziness, then head on up for a quieter scene. Purchase your tickets for the day’s event here, along with side events and after parties.

Miami Beach Gay Pride Parade- Sunday, April 12, noon to 1 p.m.

Miami Beach Gay Pride is celebrating its sixth anniversary with Grand Marshall Mario Lopez. Join over 125 LGBT friendly vendors to gawk musical performances, entertainers, munch on food as over 80,0000 people from all walks of life descend on South Beach for the party. The parade starts on 5th street, and runs north to 15th. The whole thing is free, but there are $100 tickets for sale for a VIP lounge featuring an open bar and snacks.

Miami Gay and Lesbian Film Festival Preview Cocktail Party- Friday, April 17, 6 to 9 p.m.

The Miami Gay & Lesbian Film Festival invites you to join them for Prelude - a preview cocktail party. You will preview some of the films in this year's program and they will announce the 2015 recipients of the Angel and Ally Awards. Producers Circle Members admission is complimentary. $40 donation for Member, $50 donation for a guest. Black and white chic attire is requested. RSVP to [email protected] or call 305-751-6305.

AIDS Walk Miami at The Miami Beach Convention Center- Sunday, April 26, 8 a.m.

AIDS Walk Miami is a 5K (3.1 mile) walk-a-thon fundraiser benefiting Care Resource, South Florida's oldest and largest HIV/AIDS community organization providing Primary Medical Care, Dental, Psychosocial, Case Management, Outreach, Prevention and Education to over 15,000 residents living in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties who are either affected or infected with HIV/AIDS.

The fundraiser also benefits Food For Life Network Food Bank providing meals and groceries, as well as nutritional counseling and education, to eliminate malnutrition and starvation in children and adults living with HIV/AIDS. In addition, this annual fundraiser serves as a vital vehicle to raise awareness and funds to combat the effect HIV/AIDS continues to have on the South Florida region.
