First we had a winter so brutally cold, by our standards anyway, that it literally killed iguanas, and now the warmer months are already shaping up to be record-breaking as well. The Sun-Sentinel reports thermometers at Miami International Airport indicated what your sweat-stained undershirts and air-conditioning bill might have already known: It was the hottest May in the city since records have been kept.

The average temperature in May was 82.5 degrees. That's a a fourth of a degree hotter than the previous record.
