No More Late-Night Street Hugging, Public Appearances for Castro

Fidel Castro was last seen in public in July 2006 and has become a nefarious recluse ever since. He is like the Howard Hughes of notorious dictators. Now his BFF Hugo Chavez says we'll likely never see Castro or his beard in public again

"That Fidel in his uniform who walked the streets and towns late at night, hugging the people, won't return," Chavez said during his Sunday television and radio program. "That will remain in memories."

Because if history remembers one thing about Castro, it will be his love for late-night uniformed hugging on the streets.

Chavez doesn't want you to think that means Castro is dying anytime soon. In true propagandist style, he claimed, "Fidel will live forever, beyond the physical life."
