The Miami Hurricanes basketball team has reached new heights: they're now the number eight team in the country according to the AP poll. The 'Canes have only been here once before, and that was way back in 1960 when they were also ranked 8th. It's the team's highest ranking since 1985.
Though, the team just missed the top 10 in USA Today's coaching poll. They're only ranked 11th there.
Last week the 'Canes were ranked 14th and 15th in the polls, respectively.
The 'Canes continued their domination of the ACC In the past week with road wins against Virginia Tech and a last minute buzzer beater against NC State.
Though the Hurricanes didn't receive a first place vote in either poll, they did comes close. They received one second place vote in the AP poll and two third place votes.
The 'Canes will continue their ACC trek with a match against bottom dwellers Boston College at home tomorrow and another home game against North Carolina on Saturday. Follow Miami New Times on Facebook and Twitter @MiamiNewTimes.
