Are you excited to take a behind the scenes look at the Miami Dolphins on HBO's Hard Knocks? Because the players sure aren't. Tight end Anthony Fasano says groans echoed through the locker room when the team was informed they'd be pulling double duty as reality TV stars.
"I wasn't too thrilled to tell you the truth," Fasano said on SiriusXM NFL Radio. "I think we were informed at a team meeting, and there were a lot of groans when it was announced. But we're going to have to deal with it and try not to let it be a distraction."
"Just looking at it from a football standpoint and having camp be a time for our team to get ready for a season that we're going to try to make a run at the playoffs, I don't know how much that's helping our team."
We imagine having cameras all up in your grill when you're trying to prepare for the season can be a bit distracting. And the show can expose some embarrassing moments. Anyone remember this?
Of course the team does have two reality TV show vets on the team. Reggie Bush has logged time on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, and newly signed Chad Ochocinco has been on Dancing With the Stars, Ochocinco: The Ultimate Catch, Basketball Wives, The Girls Next Door, and Fantasy Factory. So, dude's an old pro. Hell, the chance to be on TV more probably made him all that more eager to sign with the Fins.
