It's a story of broken trust, backstabbing, and revenge. It's Charlie Crist's upcoming book.

Yes, Florida's most famous Republican turned Democrat is penning a tell-all book about his journey from "Ronald Reagan Republican" to Obama-hugging Democrat, and it's coming out this winter.

Co-written with Newsday columnist Ellis Henican, the book will be titled The Party's Over: How the Extreme Right Hijacked the GOP and I Became a Democrat.

"I have now seen both these parties at the highest levels from the inside," Crist said in a news release. "In the book, I'll share my very strong feelings about what's happened to the Republicans, how the party I grew up in has been hijacked by extremists, losing its compassion and common sense. I'll describe exactly what I saw and what it made me realize. I have been a Democrat for seven months now. I have found a wonderful new home."

He also promises to spill the tea about Mitt Romney, Sarah Palin, Jeb Bush, and his primary campaign against Marco Rubio.

Crist is still widely expected to run for governor in 2014 as a Democrat, so the release of the book will come, coincidentally or not, just as the campaign begins in earnest.

As for what his former party has to say about the matter: "We didn't know that Charlie Crist was launching a new career as a fiction writer," Florida GOP chair Lenny Curry told the Buzz.
