Freezing temperatures, an empty wallet, and the weekend... That's what most of us faced this frigid cold morning.

While we may have nothing but layers upon layers of sweaters to wear and spare change in our pocket, that's not gonna stop us from partying it up this weekend -- no matter how cold our bones may be or how broke we are, we're gonna rock those thermal pants and collect our pennies.

Then we're gonna cozy up with Electric Piquete at Ball and Chain, Bonnie Riot at Kill Your Idol, DJ Snake and his Pardon My French party crew at Grand Central, and this weekend's ten under $10 party guide.

Tactile Island. With Gulf Shores, Free Pizza, Pocket of Lollipops, Ghost Foot, Montage, DJ Ed Shred. Friday, February 20, 9 p.m. Churchill's Pub, 5501 NE 2nd Ave., Miami; 305-757-1807; churchillspub.com. Admission costs $5. Ages 18 and up. Watch Little Haiti's rock gem transform into Tactile Island as Louisiana's Gulf Shores, the 305's Montage, Free Pizza, and the rest of the ragers at 5501 NE 2nd Avenue take over Churchill's for the night.

Electric Piquete. With DJ Andie Sweetswirl. Friday, February 20, 9 p.m. Ball & Chain, 1513 SW 8th St., Miami; 305-643-7820; ballandchainmiami.com. Admission is free. Ages 21 and up. Conga your way through la Pequeña Habana as "the José Martí of Miami's Latin funk scene" AKA Electric Piquete set the stage at Ball & Chain ablaze with their rumba y fuego.

"When life gives you lemon," or in our rare case, freezing temperatures, "make lemonade." "Spike it with vodka, and drink [the cold] away" at the Stage as Miami's "one part hip-hop, one part soul" crew, Dangerflow celebrate the release of their latest album, Fall Before You Fly with Suénalo.

Paul Beaubrun and Zing Experience. With Saskya Sky. As part of Big Night In Little Haiti. Presented by the Rhythm Foundation. Sing the "Legba Blues" with Port-Au-Prince's Paul Beaubrun and Zing Experience as they bring their "roots/rock" vibes to the Rhythm Foundation's Big Night in Little Haiti.

A Night of Murder Ballads by the High Maintenance Machines. With Wilson Sayre, Nick County, Daniel Milewski, and Nick Vagnoni. Kill what's left of that post-Valentine's Day romance with A Night of Murder Ballads at Gramps. Celebrate what performer Daniel Milewski calls elements of "love, homicide, passion, incarceration, despair, and general blood and guts" as the former Lester's owner and the High Maintenance Machines sing "songs of passion and despair."
