Miami's Best Eats and Drinks This Weekend: Father's Day, a Salty Way to Vote, and Taste of the Nation

Happy Friday! The big event this weekend is Father's Day, where we celebrate the man who raised us, taught us, and emptied his wallet on command. This Sunday, it's time to give back and show him some love. And the best way to show it is through food and drinks. But before that, there's Taste of the Nation tonight, when Miami's best chefs will gather under one roof to benefit Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry Campaign.

Weekend starts now!
Taste of the Nation
Tonight, June 17, join 60 of Miami's best chefs at Taste of the Nation. This year, the annual event turns 28 with a new location at Soho Studios in Wynwood. From 7 to 10 p.m., sample food and drinks from the finest restaurants, including Izzy's Fish & Oyster, Kyu, Zest, Beaker & Gray, Coyo Taco, and the Salty Donut. The best part: 100 percent of the proceeds for the evening benefit Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry campaign. Enjoying an evening out never gave you the feels like this night will. Tickets cost $125 for general admission and $250 for VIP. VIPs receive early entrance to the event at 6 p.m. and exclusive access to the afterparty at R House. Taste of the Nation is open to guests 21 and older. Visit ce.nokidhungry.org/events/south-florida-taste-nation for more information.
With the presidential election season heating up, there's one thing that's very clear: If you're not registered to vote, you've got no dog in the fight. This Saturday morning, you can register to vote while picking up your favorite morning treat. From 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Hillary Clinton campaign volunteers will host a voter registration drive at the Salty Donut where you can sign up onsite. In case you're wondering, you don't need to pledge to vote for Hillary to register with the volunteers — everyone is welcome regardless of whether you want to register Democrat or not.
Free Beer and a Taco for Dad
Want to celebrate Father's Day but you're totally broke? Take Dad for a beer and a taco at Tijuana Flats! This Sunday, dad will receive a free taco and beer (or nonalcoholic beverage) absolutely free with no purchase necessary. The offer is good only Father's Day, and you must be 21 or older with a valid ID to receive the free brewski. The offer is good at participating locations. Visit tijuanaflats.com for a list of restaurants.
Father's Day Brunching and Boozing
Take the old man out for a solid brunch — or some booze or both! Let's face it, dads get the shaft when it comes to holidays, so forget the crappy tie or mug and splurge on some steak and eggs or a few rounds of craft beer. Luckily for you, we've put together a list of places to take dad for brunch and the best bars to buy pops a few rounds. Cheers to the man who raised you and always gave you the last $20 in his wallet.
