Miami's urban core has long been missing a feature almost every major city on Earth has: an Apple Store. Downtowners and mainlanders have to travel to South Beach, Kendall, or Aventura if they want to visit the Genius Bar or pick up a new Mac charger cord.

Soon that struggle will be over. Applewill reportedly open its largest store in the state of Florida at Brickell City Centre, according to the Real Deal and South Florida Business Journal. (An Apple spokesperson told New Times that the company hasn't made any announcements about a store at Brickell City Centre.)

For years, Miamians looking to line up for a new iPhone have had to travel to Lincoln Road Mall, Aventura Mall, Dadeland Mall, or the Falls, locations that are more than a bit inconvenient for large swaths of the county's population. When Brickell City Centre opens later this year, that problem will be fixed for many.

Swire Properties also announced 69 other tenants that will fill the retail portion of the mixed-use megaproject. A three-story Saks Fifth Avenue will anchor the mall area. Luxury shops will dot the first floor of the shopping area, while premium and contemporary (read: slightly more affordable) shops will be placed on the second and third floors.
