Rec · on · dite (adj)
(Of a subject or knowledge) little known; abstruse.
That definition applies well to the Bavarian producer, performer, and “sound artist” who took the name. His compositions, though danceable, are dark and abstract. They’d provide the perfect soundtrack if you explored the deepest seas.
But even as a figure Recondite is shadowed in mystery. His releases on favored labels, such as Ghostly International, and his own Plangent Records made him an international favorite, but a State-side appearance is still quite rare. That’s why it’s such a big deal to have him at Grand Central Friday, September 18, and that’s why PL0T wants to give you the chance to win two free tickets to the show.
Recondite does not do DJ sets. He’s a live performer in the truest sense. Nothing is pre-programmed. Each crowd’s energy and the character of their city directly influence his sonic atmospheres. It’s bound to be an emotional experience and an intimate set, something no true music fan should pass up, especially because this show will be one of the last you can see at Grand Central before the venue closes.
You might as well try to win a couple tickets for you and a friend. Here are the rules.
