Brandon Flowers Cancels His Show at the Fillmore Miami Beach

Brandon Flowers has canceled his show that was supposed to take place next Wednesday, August 19, at the Fillmore Miami Beach. In fact, he's canceled a whole string of shows this week — six in total — so at least we can take comfort in the fact that we won't be the only Flower-less city.

Flowers' camp is being vague about the cancellations thus far, saying in a statement:

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Brandon Flowers' show at the Fillmore Miami Beach on Wednesday, August 19th has been canceled. Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase. Brandon Flowers apologizes to his fans for this cancellation.
So it's really anyone's guess what is going on with the notoriously straight-laced Vegas native. Maybe he was coming out of his cage and he was doing just fine but then somebody told him that you had a boyfriend who looked like a girlfriend that he had in February of last year and he was going to bed but his stomach is sick and it's all in my head but she's touching his...

OK, we're done.

He may have soul, but this cancellation proves Flowers is in fact not a soldier, and it's hard to find the Mr. Brightside of this situation.

OK, now we're really done.

Flowers has been on tour promoting his newest solo album, The Desired Effect, which has been embraced by critics and fans alike.

This cancellation also means Miami won't get a chance to see Flowers' openers, Rey Pila, who are a really intriguing new voice out of Mexico City we recently interviewed

At least fans will be able to get a refund, and, hey, you can always throw a bouquet of roses at your friend Brandon while playing "Read My Mind" on your laptop, but — sadly — we doubt it will be the same.
