Miami-Dade Commissioner Daniella Levine Cava already called for a countywide ban on Donald Trump earlier this week (well, at least a ban of the county holding any official events at any Donald Trump-owned properties in Miami-Dade). However, at their Wednesday meeting, commissioners didn't quite go that far, but they did pass an official resolution condemning Trump for his statements against Mexicans.

Trump, as nearly everyone knows by now, made derogatory and babbling remarks about Mexican immigrants in his presidential announcement speech. This set off a chain reaction, with several of Trump's business partners cutting ties with the developer. Univision was one of the first when it dropped plans to air Trump's Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants. Univision, of course, broadcasts and produces several of its programs from Doral. Trump also held the last edition of the Miss Universe Pageant in Miami-Dade and was expected to do so again.

The resolution, introduced by Commissioner Barbara Jordan, chided Trump. It officially condemned "Donald Trump’s recent racist and derogatory remarks about immigrants" while recognizing and appreciating "the enormous contributions that immigrants have made to our community and the United States as a whole."

Here's the resolution in full.

WHEREAS, on June 16, 2015, business magnate Donald Trump, chairman and president of The Trump Organization and founder of Trump Entertainment Resorts, announced his candidacy for the United States presidency at Trump Tower in New York City; and
WHEREAS, during his announcement speech, Donald Trump made several racist and derogatory remarks about immigrants, referring specifically to Mexican immigrants as drug smugglers, criminals and rapists, and blaming Mexico for many of the problems in the United States; and
WHEREAS, Donald Trump’s remarks included, “When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. . . . They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems. They’re bringing drugs, they’re bringing crime, they’re rapists, and some, I assume, are good people.”; and
WHEREAS, in response to Donald Trump’s immigration remarks, on June 25, 2015, Univisión, the largest Spanish-language broadcaster in the United States, announced that it was ending its business relationship with the Miss Universe organization and part-owner Donald Trump; and
WHEREAS, on June 29, 2015, NBCUniversal also announced that it would be ending its business relationship with Donald Trump due to his immigration comments, and as a result would no longer air the annual Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants that were part of a joint venture with Trump; and
WHEREAS, this Board recognizes and appreciates the enormous contributions that immigrants have made to our community and the United States as a whole; and
WHEREAS, this Board condemns Donald Trump’s recent racist and derogatory remarks about immigrants,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that this Board: Section 1. Condemns Donald Trump’s recent racist and derogatory remarks about immigrants.

The resolution passed 9-0, with even Commissioner Jose "Pepe" Diaz, who represents the district where the Trump National Doral Miami resort is located, joining in. However, four commissioners abstained from the voting.

Trump, interestingly enough, had recently tried to take over management of the county-owned Crandon Park golf course. It's unlikely now that will happen.

The Miami Herald also reports that Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez has returned a $15,000 campaign donation from Trump.
