Miami resident Liz Nolan, 23, will join the cast of CBS's summer reality show, Big Brother. The series, a broadcast-television staple, now in its 17th season, features 14 contestants locked in a house, their every move filmed, as fellow cast members vote on who's allowed to remain in the house.
In a "meet the contestant" video on CBS, Nolan identifies herself as a "marketing coordinator for a small startup." The startup she refers to is the New Tropic, a recently launched blog and events website. In the video, she suggests that, à la Miami, her "strategy" is to "rock her body." Nolan jokes, "I have these tight little black shorts. That's my strategy right there."
Though her bio describes her as "a bit of a brainiac, having graduated cum laude," she says in her CBS interview that her method for winning the notorious slog of a show will not be brains, but "flirting it up."
Nolan will be the first Miamian on the show, though three South Floridians have preceded her, including Frankie Grande of Boca, who is the brother of pop star Ariana Grande.
Big Brother will debut with a two-night premiere Wednesday, June 24, and Thursday, June 25, at 8 p.m. Hosted since its 2000 debut by Julie Chen, it will air on local CBS Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays through September. And in case you can't get enough of the lives of the Big Brother contestants, you can watch a live stream on CBS's website anytime.
How Nolan will fare in the heated environment of the Big Brother house remains to be seen, but she promises to bring a little Magic City flavor to the show. "Miami is in the building," she says. "We're ready to shake things up."
