Kantauri Seafood Restaurant is a small tavern located on Biscayne Boulevard that opened last week. Unai Urtiberea, the owner originally from Spain says Kantauri is a mix of "Old World Basque cuisine" that also serves while also "serving Spanish tapas and wines." This is the second restaurant Unai has owned. He was not able to discuss anything about the first venue.

The place serves tasty menu items like the tapas baby chicoree leaves with blue cheese and anchovies, ($7.95) and squid in black sauce ($15.95), which comes with pilaf and a fried egg. The food is complimented by Spanish beer and wine.

Right now they only serve lunch and dinner but starting soon they'll dish out breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m.. You will then be able to chow down on their daily breakfast special of Eggs, Ham or Bacon, Home Fries, Toast and Coffee all for $4.95.

The restaurant may be small, but the food packs a big punch with its "family style" dishes. Come in and try it out for yourself, Monday through Saturday starting at noon-midnight. 305-757-0505.
