Pinecrest Gardens Green Market Opens Sunday

For South Floridians, November is the very beginning of the harvest season. The Pinecrest Gardens Green Market reopens this Sunday, November 7 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. the season last through May.

Some of the regulars from last year's market will return. Bee Heaven Farm and Redland Organics will be there with honey, eggs, and organic fruit and vegetable bounty from around South Florida. George Mira reopens his pink conch fritter stand. Frances Modina of Le Vinois Bakery will be back with rugulach, breads, pizza and other baked treats. Also look for stands selling orchids, plants, stone crab, empanadas, guacamole, ceviche, homemade chocolates, crepes, and kettle corn.

In late November, Hani's Mediterranean Organics will bring fresh

goat milk cheese, goat milk ice cream, and Mediterranean foods.Teena's Pride will

offer tomatoes and greens from their farm in Homestead after their

harvest starts in December.

When asked about whether any food

trucks would be participating this year, market coordinator Claire

Tomlin of The Market Company said none have reached out to her and that

she's been so busy coordinating vendors, she hasn't reached out to them,

"but it's a consideration."

It's located at the former Parrot

Jungle location on the corner of Red Road (SW 57 Avenue) and Killian

Drive (SW 112 Street). They have moved the market under the Banyan tree,

closer to the main building of Pinecrest Gardens.
