We've waited this long, so a few more months isn't going to kill us, is it? Whole Foods has been teasing Northeast Miami-Dade for several years now, promising a convenient local fresh food market filled with nutrient-dense foods, a soup bar, salad bar, hard-to-find products, local fruits and vegetables, fresh meat and fish department, artisanal cheeses, wines from around the world, and micro-brews. Frankly we're all drooling for any news about the grand opening.

The recently completed Whole Foods building is located on Biscayne Boulveard and 121st Street. Parking is ample and if location is any sign of popularity, this store is going to be mobbed when the doors finally open.

"We think this store will open in May or June 2013," says Macarena Luz Bianchi, who is part of the South Beach PR team. "First it's about finding the right managers, then hiring people who understand the concept of high quality foods and the importance of helping our customers get the specialized treatment that will make their visit a happy one."

Also on the 2013-2014 horizon, Whole Foods is planning a downtown store that will, no doubt make the Brickell high-rise residents beam with happy nods.

Prepare to enjoy foodie events, gluten-free products, premium body-care-wellness goods, an all-natural bakery section, vegan and sugar-free treats and much more. Get on their mailing list for grand opening information and a schedule of upcoming cooking classes, chef demos and tastings and more at wholefoods.com.

Hang in there North Miami, it's almost here and it's going to be super delicious.
