Toro Toro Joins the Brunch Club in Downtown Miami

Should we find ourselves in Downtown Miami and in need of [a few] mimosas and some serious eats, Toro Toro's new brunch service will swiftly cater to the hungry.

The Pan-Latin steakhouse that New Times called "bullish" for its ambitious fare and moderate prices, is now offering brunch on Sundays from 11:30a.m. to 3p.m..

Chef Richard Sandoval created a new menu for the weekly service that the restaurant is dubbing "Brunch with Bravado."

Caramelized bacon guacamole exists in this world -- and Toro Toro serves it with a bunch of tortilla chips. But that's just the start. Smoked salmon coca flatbread topped with scrambled eggs will kick your average scrambled eggs in the ass. For those familiar with traditional Mexican fare, Toro Toro offers chilaquiles de pollo with salsa verde made from green tomatillos. There is also a short rib arepa "benedict" here.

If the main dishes aren't enticing enough, sides include yuca fries (which, you must eat at least once before earning your Miami card,) frijoles con carne and chorizo hash. The rodizio-style grilled meats include picanha steak, barbecue pork shoulder, chorizo, Angus ribeye, and achiote-marinated chicken.

Drinks, which truly keep the world a happy place, keep the Pan-Latin theme and include margaritas, mimosas, mojitos, Caipirinhas, pisco sours, and micheladas (traditional Mexican cocktail using beer and lime).

Sandoval designed the brunch menu to be ideal for groups, so there's a two-hour limit per table. But with drinks and friends involved, we all know two hours seems like just the beginning of a properly executed Sunday brunch in Miami. A la carte menu items including dessert and signature cocktail selections are available at an additional cost.

A fixed price of $49 per person will cover the entire brunch menu, Toro's rodizio-style grilled meats, and unlimited cocktails. For those who prefer to skip the alcohol (but why?!), the price runs for $39 per person and includes everything except cocktails. Children 12 and under are $19.50 and kiddies 5 and under cost $5.
